Job Title: Research & Development Engineer

Job Requirements:

POSITION DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

The R&D Engineer will be involved in the design and development of new Gas fired Heater products. The scope of this position is all encompassing and should appeal to any confident, highly motivated, skilled, hands on Engineer looking to be involved in product development from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:
• Evaluating, testing, and providing reports on competitive products
• Conceptualizing, designing, building and testing new ideas and technologies, evaluating test results and determining new courses of action or alternate designs
• Producing detailed 3D designs and working with the current design group to further format documentation allowing for the manufacture of new products
• Preparing for and conducting of periodic design reviews
• Bill of Material creation and cost analysis

 

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, & EDUCATION

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 yrs. Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Course work specifically in the areas of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics and mechanical design.
  • Minimum 10 yrs. experience in the Design and Development of Industrial / Commercial type products.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD design. Solidworks preferred.
  • Experience in FEA or CFD analysis would be beneficial.
  • Previous hands-on work, assembling prototypes, performing tests, documenting results.
  • Ability to think outside the box. 

As a member of the Engineering team, the R&D Engineer reports to the Vice President of Engineering and works closely with other members of the organization.

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The compensation package will consist of a competitive base salary and participation in the Company’s management incentive program, as well as the Company-wide Incentive program.  Relocation Assistance may be available.
